I’ve started putting up vampire trivia facts both on my website and Myspace page – but hey, who doesn’t need some info to make it through the night? So, without further adieu, here’s the start of the list!
Garlic isn’t the only thing that’ll annoy and hurt vampires – wild roses have been known to have an effect! Planting wild rosebushes around a suspected vampire’s grave will help restrain the creature in his cold earthen tomb!
In Japan there are legends of a cat-vampire called O Toyo. According to the story a beautiful woman named O Toyo caught the eye of Prince Hizen and subsequently became his lover. But what no one knew was that O Toyo was smothered one night by a mysterious cat who then assumed her shape! The vampire then continued to enjoy the Prince’s attention even as he became weaker and weaker over the next few weeks; losing not blood but his actual soul to the creature!
Finally thanks to the efforts of a priest and a samurai the cat demon was revealed and driven off. Prince Hizen then tracked the creature down and killed it.
Looking for the best place to dump a vampire corpse? Bury him/her at a crossroads! Theory has it that when the corpse rises again (as vampires are wont to do!) the poor creature won’t know which way to turn and will be stuck forever!
