Wookie got home just after seven this morning, with a McDonald’s brekka for the two of us. Yummy, but greasy as heck…

tucked him into bed and he’s got the alarm set for one so he doesn’t lose the entire day.

*sighs*

sad thing is, my family always has married engineers. My grandmother did and she constantly had an overnight bag ready for my grandfather at the front door. He worked his way up to be VP of Phillips-Marconi and retired young. But man… did he fly! Same with my uncle, who lived in Lebanon, Turkey and Paris before settling down in Jakarta with his second wife. My father never completed his engineering degree – for what that’s worth.

so it sort of runs in the family.

*shrugs*

note: always keep a supply of poptarts on hand to toss to mate when flying out door – good fast source of energy. Especially the lowfat ones – they ROCK!

  1. Having worked with engineers and project managers, I’ve often been amazed at how easily they take reassignments from one state or country to another for years at a time. That can’t be easy on family life. On the other hand, if you’re assigned to someplace interesting, I suppose that would make up for a lot of the travel.
I met one VP who worked in Seattle, New Orleans, and Washington, D.C. (I think) every week — three different time zones! I don’t know how he managed the jet lag. =8-0
